This Privacy Policy explains how EDASA SCIENTIFIC Società a Responsabilità Limitata Semplificata (“EDASA SCIENTIFIC S.r.l.s.”, “EDASA”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you browse this website, register an account, request a quote, or buy research chemicals from us.
It covers the website and the ordering process only. How we sell, ship, and invoice is described in our Terms & Conditions.
1. Who we are

We process personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian data-protection law. Wherever you are in the world, requests about your data go to the same email address and are handled by the same people.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Account data — name, email address, telephone number, organisation, and a hash of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Address data — the shipping and billing addresses, contact name, and phone number you save for delivery.
- Order data — the products, pack sizes, quantities, amounts, payment method, delivery status, and any messages you send us about an order.
- Feedback and quote requests — your name, email address, organisation, message, and the structures or product references you attach to the request.
- Newsletter email address, where you submit the catalog-updates form and we store the address to reply to it.
- Technical data — IP address, browser user-agent, and the server logs we need to run the site, keep it available, and investigate abuse.
- Browser storage, as listed under Cookies and local storage.
We do not ask you for special-category data such as health information, and we ask you not to include personal data about other people in quote or feedback messages beyond the contact details we need in order to reply.
3. Why we use it
Each use has a legal basis under the GDPR:
- Performance of a contract — creating and maintaining your account, keeping your cart, taking and confirming orders, arranging delivery, invoicing, and answering quotations.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site and your account secure, preventing fraud and abuse, running fulfilment and customer support, and keeping records of what we agreed with you.
- Legal obligation — tax and accounting records, chemical traceability for dispatched batches, and export-control and sanctions screening where the law requires it before we ship.
- Consent — optional analytics, if we ever add it and you accept it, and newsletter mailings if that form starts sending. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting anything we did before.
4. Who we share with
We use service providers who process personal data on our instructions: hosting and database infrastructure, outbound email (SMTP), payment processors for card and wire payments, and the courier carrying your shipment (FedEx, UPS, DHL, or another carrier we nominate). Each of them receives only what that task requires — a carrier gets the delivery address, not your order history.
We may also disclose data to customs, tax, or other authorities, or to professional advisers, where the law requires it or to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell personal data and we do not pass it to advertising networks.
5. Retention
- Account data — while your account is active, and afterwards only for as long as we need it for legal claims or statutory duties.
- Orders and invoices — for the statutory bookkeeping period in Italy and for batch traceability, and longer while a dispute, recall, or regulatory query is open.
- Feedback and quote threads — while the request is live, then deleted or archived with the commercial record.
- Cookie-consent record — until you change or clear your choice.
- Server logs — for a short operational period, unless a specific entry is needed for a security investigation.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us for access to your personal data, and for its rectification, erasure, or restriction. You may also ask for portability of data you gave us, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent you have given. Write to info@EDASAscientific.com and we will answer within the time the GDPR allows. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy, or with the supervisory authority of your own EU Member State.
7. International transfers
Our operations and our warehouse are in Italy, and we keep processing inside the European Economic Area wherever we can. Some processors — global carriers and cloud infrastructure in particular — may handle data outside the EEA, and an international shipment necessarily sends the delivery details to the destination country. Where a transfer outside the EEA takes place, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another transfer mechanism recognised by the GDPR.
8. Cookies and local storage
This site keeps a small amount of data in your browser so that signing in and shopping work. We set no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Your banner choice is stored in your browser under the key edasa.cookie-consent.

Necessary storage cannot be switched off, because the shop does not function without it. Rejecting optional storage does not sign you out and does not empty your cart. You can review or change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer or here:
Clearing your browser storage also clears the consent record, and the banner will ask again.
9. California
If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, applies to you: we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You may request access to, deletion of, or correction of your personal information, and you may use an authorised agent, through the same channel as everyone else — info@EDASAscientific.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
10. Children
This site is a professional supply channel and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site and our processing change. The “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page is the effective date of the current version, and material changes will be described here. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it before it takes effect.
